Prior to the early 1990's Perma-Door manufatured their steel edge entry door
utilizing a 20 guage galvanized bottom channel that was installed in the bottom
of the slab in an inverted position (see figure1). This channel accommodated
a "U" shoaed bottom seal that was installed via screws into the bottom of the
door and would form a seal with the threshold prventing water and air from
penetrating theinterior of the home.

The Essve Multipoint Lock
Note: this article is a work in progress. There is limited information
available on this lock.
The Essve multipoint lock was used on some Marvin doors before
2000. It was also used for a while by the Atrium door company.
The old Marvin catalog shows a 6'8", 7'0" and 8'0" length for
these locks.
