- Use track lighting to showcase a wall or décor. Track lighting opens up a room and lets you focus the light on something specific.
- Set a mood. Explore different lighting options to fit the style you're looking for. Make the lighting in your space inviting for family and friends.
- Use fluorescent light bulbs. They provide more light and save on energy.
- Install a dimmer switch for your ceiling fixture. This will help in setting the mood for a room or allow you to tone down lighting.
- Use light paint colors in small rooms. Thiswill add reflective light and depth to any room.
- Cover your windows with dark-colored curtains or shades. This does not allow any natural light to enter the room.
- Buy a light fixture that has doesn't fit the style or feel of the room.
- Put a large ceiling fixture into a small room. A ceiling fixture can be the focal point of the room. But if the fixture is too large, it will swallow the room.
- Add too much light to a room where a television is present. TVs give off light. Don't create a space where you are unable to see the screen.
